It was a long, warm day at Anaheim 3, at last a break in the cold that has followed supercross around every weekend so far in 2007. Friday (parking day) was abuzz with talk of the fuel business of course. First some updates-
Reed seems plenty ready to keep his momentum going and make this season interesting no matter what. Stewart's speed and solid rides in 2007 are quite a challenge.
Chris Gosselaar has been doing therapy to his shoulder from the hit he took from Davalos in San Francisco, and he will have a "let's try and see" day tomorrow. Ivan Tedesco got the most riding time he had so far since Toronto - three days on the bike so he's looking for a top 5 for sure. YOT's Kyle Cunningham is back this weekend.
From Motosport Kawasaki: "Team MotoSport Kawasaki today announced that Joaquim Rodrigues will contest the remaining West Coast Lites races, beginning this weekend at Angel Stadium. Following the Anaheim event, he will also race Houston, San Diego, Seattle, and possibly the Las Vegas Lites Shootout. Rodrigues will be running his familiar #108 for the rest of the season. “I just got on the Kawasaki for the first time a week ago, so I am obviously still getting used to the bike and the team,” said Rodrigues. “But I’m comfortable enough to race – I just need to try and do my best and let my speed come back to me. I haven’t ridden Supercross in awhile, but I am happy to be back racing again.”
If you are at A3, go into the stadium by 6pm to see the Red Bull FMX guys Clowers, Tilton and Miller do a show.
Michael Sleeter (KTM, #84)should be the first rider to use a Leatt neck brace in AMA pro competition tomorrow. The guy that would have used one first, Tyler Kalisk, got hurt in practice at A1. Doc Bodnar will be showing the brace to riders at the rider's meeting after the track walk.
