OK, So Now What?

"No comment" is common this morning.

The buzz in the pits is the fuel fuss at this point is focused on Yamaha's fuel and good result vs the AMA's bad result.

Things were quiet on the official front yesterday and are quiet so far today. That means a lot is going on.

One scenario is the AMA and teams call it a draw, back away, and go with a spec fuel and start over. That may even be impossible or very unlikely, but it did come up this morning. Yamaha and MDK seem to be pretty busy working on it quietly, and no one is putting any effort into spreading the part about Yamaha saying it can prove the AMA's lab is in error.

The question comes up again and again, "How can the AMA stand behind it's penalties if the basis for them is proven wrong?" So far, no one is saying anything on that end.

If the AMA doesn't accept what Yamaha says it can prove about the AMA test simply being wrong (and VP backs them up), then things will escalate and get heated.

One way out may be negotiating in a spec fuel for everyone, to just get everyone away from this random minefield.

How will it all end? Prediction: Yamaha and MDK work it out directly with Ohio and everyone hopefully gets smarter. Not sure on the Butler Brothers fuel, thats a different issue.
